26th Biennale des Antiquaires
Friday 14 September–Sunday 23 September 2012
Mullany is pleased to announce that this September we will be exhibiting at one of the most spectacular art and antiques fairs in the world today – the 26th edition of the Biennale des Antiquaires to be held in the Grand Palais in Paris.
Conceived in 1956 as a celebration of beauty, luxury and lifestyle, the Biennale des Antiquaires, has long been recognised for hosting the most prestigious international art and antique dealers specialising in a wide selection of the finest objects. Organised by the S.N.A. (Syndicat National des Antiquaires Négociants en Objets d'Art Tableaux anciens et modernes de France), all participants are carefully selected and are members of the S.N.A. guaranteeing the authenticity and quality of the works presented. Set within the architectural wonder and timeless style of the Grand Palais, scenographer for the 26th edition is Karl Lagerfeld. On display under the iconic glass roof amongst a magical setting of pavilions, gardens and fountains will be a breath taking selection of objects including sculpture and works of art from all periods, archaeological rarities, armour, furniture, old master paintings, European and oriental porcelain, silver, tribal art, books, tapestries, coins, medals and jewellery all of which have been the subject of strict vetting criteria. With 119 exhibitors and an anticipated 100,000 visitors including museum curators and collectors from around the globe, this edition is the occasion to celebrate the best of art and antiques in the most glamorous of surroundings.
The Salon d'honneur, a stunning 1,200 sq m reception room topped by a glass roof, is situated upstairs. Reopening for the first time this year following its closure in 1937 and extensive renovation, it will host a variety of exhibitors including Mullany. We look forward to welcoming you on our stand H 5 / 12 in this beautiful new setting.
